The busy folks at Inkworks have produced collectible Serenity trading cards with scenes from the movie.

There's the 72-card basic set, which you can buy separately or collect from the 6-card packs. Or you can buy a box of the packs, which has a card or two of its own. Or you can buy a case of the cards, which comes with a loader card not found anywhere else.

All together you can get:

10 Autograph cards (one per box) – One each of the crewmembers and Chiwetel Ejiofor
8 Piecework cards (approx one per 36 packs) – Featuring pieces of the actual costumes worn on-screen during the filming of the movie.
9 Renegades cards (approx one per 11 packs) – a nine-card foil puzzle.
5 Women of Serenity cards (approx one per 17 packs) – five foil stamped, die-cut cards featuring the women of Serenity.
3 The Truth Within cards (1 per box)
1 Browncoats Unite (1 per shipping case).
1 uncut mini-press sheet (only 199 made)

Inkworks has a printable checklist  and the Big Damn Board is keeping a checklist database for collectors to list their inventories and trade. The cards are available at FanDone, 258 West Authentic, Power Star Collectibles, UK Trading Cards, and plenty more (check your local comic and card stores). You can also find individual cards at places like SciFiCollector.com and eCards Direct,  and there's always eBay (see listing at the bottom of the page).

Tialessa posted an excellent guide to Serenity card-hunting at the SerenityMovie.org site, reprinted with permission (prices may vary as time goes on):

* Keep in mind that typically base sets of Inkworks cards run for $5-10 on ebay (including shipping).* Chase sets will probably run from $15-$30 for each set.

* Autographs run a wide range of prices as do pieceworks (costume cards). Guess $25-50 per auto and $15-30 for pieceworks (this will vary GREATLY based on who signs/what costumes are in the pieceworks cards).

* Sealed boxes can range from $50-70 depending on the dealer, whether they include shipping, and if they really want to make a profit. Most online dealers have boxes somewhere around the $60-65 range without shipping. If you buy more than one box the dealer will typically give a little discount, at least on shipping if not the multiple boxes.

* Binders range from $15-$20 though most dealers do sell these for the retail price of $19.95 (sometimes that price includes shipping, though it's not typical)

* Uncut sheets (mini press) have a retail price of $69.95. The lowest price I saw one for Serenity was $49.99. I'd expect to pay $55-$60 for one.

* Sealed case prices run a wide range. I never saw one lower than $620 for Serenity before that was released. I think I saw one for $575 several months later, but it could have been a different Inkworks release. Shipping on cases has been around $20 on the auctions I've previously looked for.

* Binders from Inkworks do not come with sheet protectors. If you don't have any you can normally buy some fairly cheaply at a sports card store. Use the 9 pocket Ultra Pro sheets – they're the best out there. You can also buy Avery 9 pocket sheets at office supply stores, but they're not the best and aren't archival which means they might hurt the cards.

* If you want to store your autograph/piecework cards safely I highly suggest using either top loaders to protect them or snap-tite protectors. (Put a slip sleeve/penny sleeve on them first when using top loaders) Either will keep them safe. Some folks like to use screwdown holders, but I'm not wild about them. You can also store those in your binder – just use the 4 pocket Ultra Pro cards and tape the edges so the top loaders/snap tites don't fall out.

* I buy all my supplies from sport card stores. The comic book stores near me just don't carry what I need.
