If you ever get a chance to, listen to the old audio recording of the original War of the Worlds. It's pretty good, and people throught it was really happening when they heard it on the radio.

Hello, fellow Browncoats! Steve D. of Quantum Mechanix here. You may have heard me on The Signal a while back, discussing our new prop replica company. If you haven’t…what are you waiting for? Go check it out!

Ok, well…read this first and THEN go check it out…

Now that we're only a few weeks away from shipping our first Serenity props, I thought I should stop by and give you a more formal introduction.

Like you, we're all huge Firefly and Serenity fans here. Oh, and Star Wars and Star Trek and Farscape and Battlestar Galactica and Classic sci-fi and, and…

You get the idea. Anyway,

Back in February, we approached Universal Studios for a license to produce a line of collectibles for Serenity. (We spoke to Fox about Firefly, but they were not in a licensing frame-of-mind at the time). Universal however was certainly open to discussing a license. Although they did look at us a tad funny, because we asked for an extensive contract that covered prop replicas, models, artwork, patches, etc…”You want to do all of that? Really?"

In the end, we got everything we asked for. And we are now in production on our first two products: The Fan Club Exclusive Money Pack and the Mal Pistol Replica. Both are available for pre-order right now on our website, www.quantummechanix.com. Also, for those of you who may have had a bit of trouble placing international orders, it's all just shiny now – we can take international orders on the website just fine.

And if you’re finding the name of the Fan Club Exclusive money pack a tad confusing, I just wanted you to know if you're fan-enough to be readin' this, you're fan-enough for the fan exclusive pack; no further memberships or Ident Cards required. But remember…the Fan Club editions ain't gonna be 'round forever! Retirement is just around the corner…

Did I mention that five of the fan club money packs will contain a “Golden Ticket” that will award the lucky winner with original artwork from Serenity, created by Geoff Mandel and Tim Earls?

Heh… Thought that might get your attention.

For the near future, we are ponderin' replicas of Zoe’s rifle, Wash’s pistol, numerous other props, gadgets, artwork and patches, and of course, a large-scale replica of everyone’s favorite boat, Serenity. We might even conjure us some “Reaver-ized” versions! (If you like this idea, please let us know at the feedback link at www.quantummechanix.com we're interested in what other Serenity props you'd like to see; just remember that, at least for now, we only have a license for Serenity, not Firefly. So, don’t go askin’ for no Vera replicas… 'kay?)

And if your interests extend to other 'Verses, you can thank your dear and fluffy Lord, because we also have Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, and classic Sci Fi ships and props in the works, and Creature From The Black Lagoon and Dracula props ready for pre-order right now. ALL fully-licensed by the studios!

Guess that's about all I got to say about that. Thanks for readin' this far, and to the many Browncoats who've already pre-ordered our Serenity props, you have our undying gratitude, and soon, the best, licensed prop replica(s) in the 'Verse!

Damn, damn, damn. Official Serenity replicas, this is going to hurt my credit rating. I wonder how much I can get for a kidney that's in reasonable working order?

I've been checking the site every day since I heard about it on The Signal, 'cause I'm obsessive like that. At least I am when it comes to Serenity...
