Official Serenity Blueprints sold out

qmx_bps.jpgThe limited edition Official Serenity Blueprints from QMx have sold out from the company's website. According to company spokesman Andy Gore it was "Definitely, our most successful product to date!"

You can still pick up a set of the 10 18"x24" full-color prints of incredibly detailed floor plans and cutaway scenes from every aspect and angle of our favorite ship, but now you'll have to hunt for them. TFAW.com has some in stock, and KM Collectibles, and you can always try eBay.

Many thanks to QMx for a truly spectacular prop. Designed by Geoff Mandel (graphic artist for the movie) and Tim Earls (illustrator for the show and set decorator for the movie), this is the most accurate set of blueprints you will ever see. No detail has been overlooked and more than a few questions get answered (like where do they go to the bathroom, anyway?). The prints are on heavy bond paper and look fantastic on a wall. Any wall. Every wall!

You can read an interview with Geoff and QMx guy Andy Gore here.

I can't believe a soffisticated ship such as Firefly still uses old school solar panels! what were the designers thinkin'!

Man, I would really love to have these. I just can't justify spending a hundred dollars on, essentially, ten sheets of shiny paper. No matter how great the goodies are, that's a lot of money to spend on some pictures.

I see your point Tyshalle.. if to ya those are just some pretty pictures then by all means don't waste your hard earned money on 'em!

It may help to think of them as high-quality art prints (BIG art prints…24" x 18"), in which case $10 each is a pretty good deal. (Of course, I'm not exactly impartial.)

Also remember that having them signed makes them more valuable and also they are individually numbered, mines 488 (almost 500 goram it)

Plus, if you are planning on getting the 20" Serenity replica then you'll be able to use the $25 or $50 coupon that comes with the blueprints, ($25 for the Limited Edition version or $50 for the Signature Edition).

Yeah, I see your guys' points. Truthfully I'm probably just trying to make myself feel better about not being able to afford them right now, and so I'm writing it off like they're not good enough anyway.

    Don't destroy my illusion! :D
