Serenity is kicking Star Wars' butt…
…in the hottest graphic novel list at TFAW.com. A year and a half old and it's still outselling the Star Wars 30th Anniversary Collections. Woo!
For those of you who are new to the 'verse — and there's more of you every day — "Serenity: Those Left Behind" is a three-issue comic book mini-series written by Joss Whedon and "Firefly" writer Bret Matthews to help explain what happened in the six months between the last "Firefly" episode and the "Serenity" movie. The crew is on hard times, Inara's gone, and Book is starting to have second thoughts about where he's found himself. Then there's these guys with blue hands and an unexpected old friend… Art by Will Conrad (Marvel's Elektra and Witches) and colorist Laura Martin (Astonishing X-Men and The Ultimates). This trade paperback collects all three issues as well as all nine of the original covers (one for each crewmember). You can preview the first few pages here.
One of the top sellers of 2006, it's still going strong. So much so that Dark Horse is rereleasing it this fall as a hardback, with a new Adam Hughes cover and more behind the scenes material, and you can preorder that at TFAW.com and get 20% off the retail price.
By the way… the third hottest TPB at TFAW.com right now? Joss Whedon's Fray. I love it. Take that, Jedis!
