Mostly because the future will most likely read it as Colbert: B-E-R-T with no silent letters. Furthermore I don't see how a comedian's prank will help bolster actual interest in the real space program. They'll laugh the name off as the joke that it was meant to be... and move on, only occasionally referencing the module to remind people of the joke. Thus, NASA becomes a joke.
