Gaiman appears to spend more time on his press releases than his books. The Graveyard Book is a rough read with an unlikable protagonist and a plot that disintegrates, as all Gaiman plots do, either because he is bored or doesn't believe in what he's writing. Like Madonna, Gaiman's great talent is spinning a minor idea into a publicity blitz, but it makes for a poor read.
