QMx Blue Sun Travel Poster set now at Amazon
OK, it's still ultimately coming from QMx, but if you prefer shopping through Amazon now you've got the choice. I'm a big Amazon fan. It's the first online store I found that has the same effect on me as a regular bookstore: it is nearly impossible for me to go in for a book without stumbling across at least one other one I didn't know about and now must own. If Amazon ever develops a virtual version of a clearance heap you have to pass to get to the science fiction section, I'm doomed.
Check out the posters at Amazon, and if you like 'em see if you can liven up the review section a little bit, let folks know how shiny these posters are. Every way we can spread the word — and I realize how culty I'm sounding here — is good.
The misprint poster set now belongs to History
Or whomever registered as "History," which is the name I drew from everyone who registered and everyone who commented hoping to win the Blue Sun Travel Poster set from SerenityStuff and TFAW.com. Congratulations, History, and thanks to everyone who entered. Be sure to stop back Monday, there'll be a new giveaway starting Monday morning.
Don't forget, you can buy the official Blue Sun Travel Poster set (with the “Londinium” poster) at TFAW.com or at QMx. You can buy the one of the original misprint sets from TFAW.com, but they only have a few left, if any. QMx is now offering just the misprint poster by itself as a limited edition art print in case you want all the posters and don’t want to buy two whole sets.
Win a misprinted Blue Sun Travel poster set, updated

UPDATED: The contest has changed; no registration necessary. Read on!
So, QMx hired Adam from BlackMarketBeagles.com to create some stunning posters advertising places around the 'verse, which Adam, being a freaking genius, did. And one of them was named "Londinum," just as it was listed in the script for the pilot episode "Serenity" and in every scrap of background material that could be verified. And it was good. And after it was printed, even Joss said it was good.
He also said it was supposed to be "Londinium."
Which meant that QMx had a print run with a misprinted poster. They offered 300 of them to the California Browncoats to sell at the San Diego Comic Con and they sold quite well indeed. And they made a corrected print run and sold those, and they also sold very well indeed. And now you have a variety of options available to you, the discerning Browncoat. You can buy the official Blue Sun Travel Poster set (with the "Londinium" poster)at TFAW.com or at QMx. You can buy the one of the original misprint sets from TFAW.com, but they only have a few left, if any. QMx is now offering just the misprint poster by itself as a limited edition art print in case you want all the posters and don't want to buy two whole sets.
Or you can win one of the hard-to-find misprint sets right here from SerenityStuff.com and TFAW.com. I'm giving one away at midnight EST September 15, and all you have to do to enter is to comment on something here at SerenityStuff.com. Anything, really. Just post a comment somewhere and I'll draw from those names at random. Please use an e-mail address that will actually get back to you, as that's how I'll be contacting the winner. Your info will not be used for any other purpose. US and Canada only, please, unless you're willing to pop for postage.
The Blue Sun Travel Poster set contains 5 full-color, 17? x 22? prints on 100-pound, satin-finish paper. Included in the set are posters inviting you to travel to historic Serenity Valley, tranquil Miranda, exciting Persephone, beautiful Sihnon and awe-inspiring Londinum. Read the rest of this entry »
QMx offering limited edition "Londinum" poster art print
Remember those "Londinum" posters in QMx's Blue Sun Travel Poster sets that turned out to be spelled wrong? The ones they offered at the San Diego Comic Con anyway? Now you can order one of them for your very own!
A funny thing happened on our way to Comic-Con International 2007 in San Diego. It seems a certain Mr. Joss Whedon – you know, that fellow who created a little thing called Firefly and Serenity – found a small problem with one of our preproduction Blue Sun Travel posters the California Browncoats were selling at the show. The hitch? Well, in Joss' own words, posted on Whedonesque.com:
"Wow. Those are extremely cool. Masterfully designed.
But it's 'Londinium.'
But they're really great!"Needless to say, we brought production to a screeching halt. We then changed the final version of the poster to include the second "i" – but not before some of those preproduction sets made it into the hands of a lucky few Browncoats.
Some of you have taken issue with this. You're just a bit miffed that you can't get the "One -Eye" Londinum art print anymore. Well, we aim to fix that with 1,000 numbered prints of old One-Eye. We're introducing these at a very low price for a numbered limited edition: just $19.95. Same 17" x 22" size and same high quality, 100-pound, satin finish paper as our retail travel posters.
The plates have been destroyed – when these are gone they're gone forever. So get yourself a copy of our favorite mistake before they're no more.
Head to Quantum Mechanix and check 'em out. If you're interested in getting one of the original misprint sets with all the other posters plus the Londinum one, TFAW.com has a few left. And if you haven't gotten your set yet with the corrected poster, stop by QMx or TFAW.com.
Adam Levermore-Rich is officially an Artisan
According to QMx, anyway. They just announced his hiring today — a little late, since fans of his Can't Stop the Serenity posters and BlackMarketBeagles.com designs immediately recognized his talented hand behind the new QMx Blue Sun Travel Poster Set, but hey. It's good to see that they recognize excellence the same way we do.
Here's the press release:
August 19, 2007, Collegeville, PA – Quantum Mechanix Inc. (QMx), a privately held developer of licensed, high-quality entertainment replicas, today announced that Adam Levermore-Rich has joined the QMx Artisan team.
A graphic artist with more than 10 years' experience, Levermore-Rich spent many years working at Adobe Systems and draws much of his inspiration from genre designers. He is best known for his artistic contributions to Firefly fan groups and charitable events like Can't Stop the Serenity. He is also the creative force behind Black Market Beagles' Firefly- and Serenity-inspired t-shirt and poster designs, a favorite among Browncoats.
"My involvement with the Browncoats has been life-changing, especially when it comes to my design work," said Levermore-Rich. "My design was selected as the official poster and shirt for the 2007 global Can't Stop The Serenity screenings. I've also designed publicity materials for the Browncoat Ball, the San Francisco and Silicon Gulch Browncoat groups, and a Browncoat panel at WonderCon 2007."

Londinum? Londinium? Pre-release QMx travel posters now even more collectible

Remember those Blue Sun Travel Posters I just mentioned from QMx, that haven't been officially announced yet but will be available at the California Browncoats booth at the San Diego Comic Con this weekend? Only 300 sets, and no more available until the official release weeks from now?
Funny thing… those 300 will now even more limited issue than we thought…
See, since Mal mentioned a planet in the pilot episode of "Firefly" — "…and I'd like to be king of all Londinium and wear a shiny hat…" — there's been a controversy over that name and whether Mal (or Nathan) just mispronounced it. The shooting script says Londinum. The background material said Londinum. The official handbooks say Londinum, as does the RPG. Even Geoff Mandel (graphic designer for Serenity) said he knew it was Londinum. And so one of the posters invites you to Londinum, "The Past, Present, and Future of Humanity."
And then Joss posted about the posters at Whedonesque:
Wow. Those are extremely cool. Masterfully designed.
But it's 'Londinium'.
But they're really great!

Which means that those 300 at the Con are truly collector's items, because QMx will be redoing the poster for the official release. Read the rest of this entry »
New QMx Blue Sun Travel Posters available weeks before release

The California Browncoats have got it going every way you can think of. Their booth at Comic Con will have Serenity variant ornaments, limited edition mugs, guests like Tim Minear, Keith R. A. DeCandido, Nancy Holder, Bret Matthews, and 11th Hour, and now I can announce that they'll have something no one else will have: the first copies of QMx's upcoming release, Blue Sun Travel art prints.
There will be 300 sets available for sale at the California Browncoats booth at the San Diego Comic Con next weekend, July 27-29. These will not be available anywhere else — they won't even be mentioned on the QMx site — for another couple of weeks, so this is a great chance to get the jump on your friends and get some wonderful prints.
You're looking at a set of 5 full-color prints, 17" x 22", on 100lb satin-finish paper. Included in the set are posters inviting you to travel to historic Serenity Valley, tranquil Miranda, exciting Persephone, beautiful Sihnon, and awe-inspiring Londinum. The detail and lush colors are amazing, and I think I see a familiar hand in that artwork… They'll be $35, including tax.
Be sure to stop by their booth at A7/A8 for great stuff, wonderful people, amazing giveaways, charity works, and now the most exclusive Serenity item around. Check the California Browncoats site for more info about the weekend.
Overstock sale at Black Market Beagles
Adam took plenty of merchandise to the Flanvention, but he was kinda busy that weekend. You know, whipping up a replacement convention at a moment's notice (along with several other valiant Browncoats and stars). So he's got a lot of stuff left over and it's all on sale for a limited time. Some of these items are not offered at his main store anymore, so this could be you last chance to get any of the wonderful Little Damn Heroes designs.
Also available: the Browncoats poster (seen above) he premiered at the Backup Bash. Designed from hundreds of familiar quotes, fan names, event titles, and more, it's an elegant piece that will have you squinting for weeks to see if you're in there…
