BWAH! New update for free Serenity card game

10thcrew_bupdate.jpgThe latest expansion pack for BWAH!, 10th Crewmember's free and ever-growing card game, is now available: "BWAH! Those Left Behind."

This expansion set adds new cards to the already exciting BWAH! card game. In addition to the 15 new Character cards, there are 36 additional Action cards. Also included are 3 shiny first-time-ever Create Your Own Local Color Character Cards you can use to make a character you don’t have, or to add yourself to the game! Just add them to your current BWAH! decks and shuffle!

There's also some rules clarifications and a new symbol to keep track of. This set introduces characters, settings, and events from the comic mini-series "Those Left Behind." You'll need the original game to play, and once you see the other expansion packs you'll be eaten alive with jealousy until you get them, so grab 'em all! Current download links are here.

BWAH! Still Flyin' expansion pack now available

bwah_stillflyin.jpgBWAH!, the popular versified card game that spawns more expansions than an all-you-can-eat buffet, has just popped out another one.

BWAH! Still Flyin brings you 9 new character cards and 9 new action cards. Fess Higgins! Alliance Counselor! Bazaar pickpocket! Officious doctor!

You'll need the BWAH! game to play, and you might as well get the rest of the expansions while you're there. Check here or here for the latest download locations.

Firefly cards already going fast

firefly_cards.jpgIf you're looking forward to the new Firefly cards coming out from Inkworks, you might want to check with your local comic store now or preorder 'em: Inkworks is already sold out.

Don't panic, that just means they've all been bought by the people you'll be buying them from. Firefly cards started shipping this week for their retail debut next Wednesday and Inkworks has already sold out their stock. From Inkworks' PR guy Andy Modlin:

"Retailers and distributors will still probably have product for a little while longer, so Browncoats don’t need to panic.  However, clearly this isn’t a product that is going to gather much dust on the shelf so they shouldn’t wait around to place their order if they want to collect the cards."

Meaning if your store sells out, they probably won't be getting any more. Word to the wise. You can preorder 'em at Poplollies,  258 West Authentic, eCardsDirect, UK Trading Cards, and more.

And don't forget, I'm giving away a free Firefly P-1 promo card every day up to the release date.

Inkworks Serenity cards win Diamond NonSports Card award

Inkworks won the Diamond Gem Award for Non-Sports Card Manufacturer of the Year from Diamond Comic Distributors for the 9th straight year, which was cool, but their Serenity set won Best NonSports Card Product for 2005.

Woo hoo!

New pics of the Firefly card set, now due May 17

cards_fireflyforever.jpgInkworks has updated their Firefly cards page with new pictures of the case loader "Outlaws" card, one of the 6 "Battle of Serenity" cards, and the "Firefly Forever" limited edition uncut sheets (pictured). Cool funkiness!

Current best guess as to release date is May 17, according to Inkworks, "to spread out the upcoming Inkworks products." Also, check back for an announcement about the Firefly promo cards I've been giving out. They're about to get a lot more frequent, and there's more free stuff coming.

  • About to watch Donnie Lee play at Victorio's in Longwood. Good that they let him move inside; it's still raining out on the patio.
  • Rainy day. We're in bed; is chatting on facebook, I just finished Robert B. Parker's "The Boxer and the Spy." Not a bad afternoon.
  • Vacation's almost over; diet is hiding behind Monday, lurking. In the meantime, tomorrow morning is Golden Corral breakfast buffet! Woo!
