Interview: Allan Caplan, president of Inkworks Cards
Recently I had the opportunity to chat with Allan Caplan, president of Inkworks, the company responsible for the highly regard collectible cards for various popular movies and TV shows like X-Files, The Family Guy, Buffy, Angel, Lost, The Simpsons, Veronica Mars, The Sopranos, Smallville, and (of course) Serenity.
For some reason I forgot to ask him anything about any of the other shows…
BWAH! Can't Stop the Signal
The latest BWAH! is out, and it's a doozy. Not just an expansion pack, this is a whole complete game, updated for the movie, with new actions, new professions, and snazzy new graphics.
Fully playable on its own, it can also be combined with your original BWAH! set to make the Big Damn Bwah! (You don't know what BWAH! is? Check this out)
Still some Serenity cards out there
Was just cruising around the Cortex and I stumbled across Ideal808.com which is apparently selling boxes of Serenity cards at $59.95 per, the cheapest I've seen them yet (and less than I paid for mine, gorrammit).
They also have the 2005 San Diego ComicCon Inkworks promo sets — promo cards for Inkworks card series Lost, Alias Season Four, Buffy Men of Sunnydale, Charmed Conversations, Sopranos Season One, and Serenity that were handed out at last year's con — on sale for $4.95. They ship worldwide.
Free promo Firefly card soon
On Inkworks' free promo card page you can mail in to receive… a free Veronica Mars card!
But in the upcoming free promo list is Family Guy and (let me have a woo hoo) Firefly! Heads up, folks, and keep an eye out. I'll let you know when it happens.
BWAH!
Who needs Magic the Gathering? Throw out your Pokemon cards! (Seriously, throw them out) You need to get busy playing the card game that blows them all away, in a very literal and precise sense: BWAH!
