"Zoe's Revenge," the latest in Diamond Select's series of Serenity statues, isn't gonna be jumping over your crates any time soon. "That statue was cancelled due to lack of retailer interest," according to Diamond Select marketing man Micheal Leavey.

Fan response to the previous statues of River and Inara was less than stellar, so I can't say this is a surprise, but it is sad to realize that we have even less of a chance for action-figure-sized versions of the rest of the crew. At least for now.

Remember the cool Zoe maquette Lanin D. Thomasma from ntoonz.com made? He didn't stop there…

Thomasma sculpts funky little pop culture statues, including several licensed lines for online comics like General Protection Fault and Accidental Centaurs. But he's also a fan of a familiar-sounding show, and these things happen. Check out his other maquettes and see what else he's making.

It's on the shelves, and here's mine. Inara's Shuttle is the latest Serenity ship ornament from Dark Horse Deluxe and our 'versy armada is growing, growing… More pics after the jump.

Check out this cool little desktop wonder. Lanin D. Thomasma from ntoonz.com sculpts funky little pop culture statues, including several licensed lines for online comics like General Protection Fault and Accidental Centaurs, and he found out about this cool little science fiction show, you might have heard about it…

The result was this menacing marquette of a very familiar looking crewmember that he made for himself. It's not on ntoonz.com  at the moment, but there are lots of other marquettes to look at, and you really should.

What are you getting for Christmas? I got a Companion…

The licensed Mal resin mini-bust from Razor's Edge Collectibles is now also available for preorder from TFAW.com (handy if you plan to buy anything else from them and combine orders).

Sculpted by Gentle Giant, made by Diamond, this little captain is in 1/6 scale and is 6" tall. Only 1,000 will be made and sales are limited to two per household, $50 each.

According to the e-mail notice I just received from TFAW.com, the "Inara Strikes" statue from Diamond Select has been postponed to Dec. 19. Which means there's still time to preorder it and get 20% off the $99 retail price.

This is the second Serenity statue from Diamond Select, following their "River Triumphant" statue due out soon. 7" tall and to scale with the Serenity action figures, this sculpt is by Michael Norman and can be removed from the base. Limited to 1000 pieces.

Not in the same scene, unfortunately.

Nice little bit of synchronicity going on in eBay today, custom figures have popped up for sale. First up, a 12" Captain Mal. "Fully articulated figure comes with: shirt, pants, boots, suspenders, leather belt and holster and metal pistol ….and of course his trademark browncoat!! coat has leather cuffs."

Second, and a cool idea it is, is a bathing Inara (picture next to the Mal doll is not to scale). She was made from parts of Buffy figures, sculpted, and repainted. Only her elbows move; she's for display only, so don't get any funny ideas. She comes with a red floor base and a washcloth.
