Terry Moore's "Echo" coming to the big screen, maybe

tm_echoTerry Moore has signed a deal with "Watchmen" producer Lloyd Levin to make an "Echo" movie.

This doesn't mean there'll be one, of course. Movie deals are delicate, frail things that fall apart for all sorts of reasons. But I'm really hoping to see it (assuming it's done right) and I'm glad to see Moore,  getting the recognition (and the six-figure option amount).

Of course, I'd rather see a well-done "Strangers in Paradise" movie…

"Echo" tells the story of a photographer who is preoccupied with her personal problems until she gets doused by liquid metal from a military experiment gone awry. She discovers she can now harness the power of a nuclear bomb, and soon the military wants its walking weapon.

If you're not reading it, you really should be. Check out the first collection, "Moon Lake", at Amazon.

Now you can dress like Tank Girl

props_tankgirlOK, I really need to stop browsing the Prop Store of London, because I keep finding things I have no chance of affording but desperately need nonetheless even though I didn't know it was possible to buy them seconds previously. Like this.

Freakin' Tank Girl's costume.

This is Tank Girl's Costume from the 1995 movie Tank Girl which was Based on the British cult comic-strip. Tank Girl (Lori Petty)our heroine fights a mega-corporation, which controls the world's water supply and this costume is featured in the final battle scenes. The outfit is comprised of two sock elbow pads, chaps, custom vest, bulls-eye t-shirt, choker, and red shorts. All of the items are tailored to fit the petite 5'8"(173cm) actress. The pieces are all in good condition.

Huge fan of this comic, the movie, and Lori Petty. The only thing better would be a costume with two big missle-head bra cones on it, but one must be prepared to settle for what's available.

Which is freakin' Tank Girl's costume. Tank (presumably) not included.

"She-Hulk" on the small, sad little screen

You know those fan-made superhero movie trailers that hit the Internet sometimes and just amaze you with their quality and professionalism? Like the Green Lantern one, and Batman: Dead End and World's Finest and even one for the Thundercats?

This isn't one of those.

Let the Ghostbusters send you to the San Diego Comic-Con

Toy Story 3 teaser trailer is out of the box

toystory3If you saw Pixar's Up tonight, you probably saw the teaser-trailer for Pixar's upcoming Toy Story 3. And it's very likely you were happy about it.

If you didn't, you can see it at the Apple trailer page (or at the official Disney site, but you'll have to put up with a commercial first; I'd stick with the Apple site).

Looks like they managed to fit everyone into the teaser and all the original voices are back (except for the late Jim Varney's Slinky Dog, presumably), and they even crammed in some new toys. So far Pixar has never let me down — Cars was the weakest for me, mostly because they stuck race cars into Doc Hollywood, and even that was fun to watch — so I'm officially already looking forward to this.

And if you haven't seen Up… go see Up.

Now you can take the heat: Cameron's house from "Ferris Bueller" is for sale

cameronsshouseCameron's famous cantilevered house with the glass carport from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" is for sale, and the carport is still there (car not included).

The Ben Rose Home-site of the famous movie 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', cantilevered over the ravine, these two steel and glass buildings, which can never be duplicated, have incredible vistas of the surrounding woods. This is a unique property designed by A. James Speyer and David Haid, both notable architects of the 20th Century. Estate Sale Sold 'As Is' No disclosures! This is an amazing architectural treasure.

Just $2.3 mil and it's all yours!

Nathan Fillion IS Green Lantern

Or at least he is in this amazing fan-made movie trailer that's sweeping across the interwebs. Hollywood? There's not a lot coming out this summer that looks as interesting as this does. Might want to do something about that…

Star Trek might live long and prosper after all

startrek

That… was an excellent movie.

I'm about to go into detail, so don't read on if you're avoiding spoilers. Lots of them.

Pixar's "Up" trailer

As someone who occasionally struggles to come up with new ideas and new storylines, it is incredibly gratifying/frustrating to see Pixar continue to produce stuff like this. See? It's still possible!

Although Cars was basically an animated Doc Hollywood, and that cheered me up some.

Spike, the Bionic Woman, and Darth Maul coming to Orlando

The guest list for the 20th annual FX con, one of the area's biggest pop culture conventions, has been announced:

James Marsters - Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Smallville, Dragonball and Torchwood
Julie BenzDexter, Buffy, Angel, Rambo 4 and one of the Punisher movies
Lindsay WagnerBionic Woman (the good one)
Ray ParkGI Joe, Star Wars (prequel) and X-Men
Mark GoddardLost in Space

Going to an FX con is like going to several different cons at the same time (and in the same building, all using the same bathrooms). While the celebrity guests are signing autographs and posing for pictures, comic book fans are meeting famous guest writers and artists, horror fans are buying up memorabilia, doll and stuffed bear fans are doing whatever doll and stuffed bear fans do, and the rest are busy cosplaying, gaming or just trying to get by for the golf convention in the next wing. It's a madhouse, and a fun one.

This year they're also launching a celebrity poker challenge. According to the release: "The FX Celebrity Poker Challenge is a charitable event with 100% of the net proceeds being donated to the American Cancer Society and other related organizations. Dealers will consist of FX guest celebrities, local celebrities, comic book professionals and tournament staff. The celebrity dealers will rotate from table to table, allowing all players an opportunity to meet them." Meaning you'll have to keep your poker face on while various vampires and Lords of the Sith loom over you. Watch those tells!

FX 2009 is later in the year this year, running April 17th-19th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.  Get more details at the FX Web site.
